Short Stack is a system of furniture that works with you. It’s low, comfortable seating when company drops by.It’s a shelving unit when you need to get organized. Instead of becoming an eye sore when you need the extra space, it becomes a piece of sculpture.

I designed Short Stack primarily for my own needs. Being a college student means I have to move at least every nine months. So I made sure that it collapsed into a very small space, had plenty of spots and handles that were easy to grab on to, and was able to withstand the abuse of moving. It also needed to be inexpensive to produce.

Baltic birch plywood is used for the main body and maple is used for the legs.

The end result is a design that marries form with function.
